This month’s Design Insight feature in Gardens Illustrated takes a look at Jo’s transformation of a long, narrow garden in south west London. The owners were attracted to Jo’s romantic, slightly wild planting style and her insistence that gardens need to work for their owners. Jo was tasked with designing a beautiful space that would draw the family outside and encourage them to use the whole of the long, narrow plot. Within it, they asked for sculpture, some space for fruit and veg, a challenging play area for the children and water.
“Jo’s design – a piece of kinetic sculpture in itself – proves that you don’t need a big garden to have a fabulous water feature.”
